Aerial view of the farm: pasture, forest and a pond.

The farm

45 hectares on the outskirts of Osorno.

Open pasture, native forest and our own water — with the Cordón del Caulle, Puntiagudo and Osorno volcanoes on the horizon.

Three volcanoes, one skyline.

  • Cordón del Caulle
  • Puntiagudo
  • Osorno Volcano
  • Volcanic setting

The Osorno basin was shaped by volcanoes. Soils here are largely volcanic in origin — known locally as trumaos — light, deep and good at holding water.

  • Our own water

Irrigation draws on an on-farm well and a reservoir we're building to store water. Having our own source gives us independence and full control over every irrigation cycle.

  • Southern climate

Osorno has a temperate, rainy climate with mild summers. We track the weather daily with our own sensors and with the INIA Remehue agricultural weather station in the same area.

  • Forest and pasture

The farm combines open pasture with stands of native forest and a pond. The raspberry pilot sits on the pasture; the forest stays as part of the landscape.
